hi guys, that Damo series sound interesting, have anyone seen it ? I wonder is the shooting like from locations or in studio like most of tv serials ?

FYI on that AsianDVD site they do ship internationally but the shipping fee is kinda high.
from their web site
USPS Intl. Air Mail (Canada & Mexico) 4~14 business days $2.00 per order + $0.95 per item
USPS Intl. Air Mail 4~14 business days $4.00 per order + $1.95 per item
USPS Global Priority Mail (Canada & Mexico) 3~5 business days $5.00 per order + $0.95 per item
USPS Global Priority Mail 4~7 business days $7.00 per order + $1.95 per item
USPS Express Mail 2~5 business days $18.00 per order + $1.95 per item

I did order from them before but it took like 2weeks or more to Canada . sad

Hi...
Just watched 3-Iron last night and thought it was pretty weird movie; but that was kinda expected from Kim Ki Duk's movie based on his previous films (The Isle and Samaritan Girl). This movie almost has no dialogue at all since the acting itself explains all the movie.

Another K-movie needs to be emphasized here is Love So Divine. I just like this movie so much, especially the ever beautiful Ha Ji Won. One best quote sentence from this movie is: 'Men are all pigs, except ur dad and priests grin '
This movie is about a sexy young yet selfish girl fell in love with a-yet-to-be-priest young man (Kwon Sang Woo). Expect hilarious moments from this love comedy genre.

Lastly, Ghost House (yes...another horror comedy K-movie). Weird genre but it works. Funny movie but I hate the soundtrack so much since it makes the movie sound so cheesy and low budget. Dunno the main actress' name here but she is sooo cute. Nothing beats cute kawaii girl in traditional japanese ghost clothing wink
Anyone notice that the movie which the male protagonist watched is Attack the Gas Station

Edit: Forgot to say one thing. 'Merry Xmas everybody' grin

Latest movies I watched:
K-Movies: She's on Duty, Crying Fist, Red Eye, Running Boy (Marathon), Public Enemy 2, A moment to Remember
J-Movies: Azumi 2, Moonlight Jellyfish

She's on duty -- A Korean's replica of Stephen Chow's Fight Back to School. It is a comedy action movie but it focused too much on the action making the later half of the movie is so serious. The first half of the movie is very interesting and funny to watch though.

Crying Fist -- Both OldBoy and Arahan's lead actors back and encounter each other in this boxing drama movie. Both characters come from sad background and finally get to fight each other in the ring for the competition. Expect touching moments here and for the action part is just OK; however i really love the camera angle of the fight.

A moment to Remember -- One of the most famous Korean sad touching movie recently to hit Asian countries. Need i to say morehuh The hint of the movie is Alzhemier disease grin

Azumi 2 -- Finalllyyyyyyyyyy......it has been a while since the last time i watched a good japanese movies. This is the type of the movie which should be made by japanese directors. It has everything u need: cute heroine, sicko bitch as the main enemy, nice but bad luck heroine's partner, plenty of cool actions, Chiaki Kuriyama (aka Gogo Yubari in Kill Bill vol 1 and Battle Royal fame), and it concludes the whole story left in original Azumi.

Moonlight Jellyfish -- One word only.......boriiiiiing

Stairway to Heaven (sad and romantic)
Glass Shoes
FullHouse

I know these aren't movies but I think they are pretty good.

Been watching bits and pieces when I get the time.

Sky High, which is a Japanese TV series shown late at night a few years back. Kitamura directed the movie version and the final story arc for the show. It finally has english subs too, so others out there can enjoy it.

Otherwise the usual suspects:

She's on Duty. Just like Anone said. Interesting comedy/romance, which turns dark and bloody later on.

Picked up the deluxe edition of Initial D on DVD.

Looking forward to the Korean films "Duelist" starring Ha Ji Won and based on the same book as her TV series Damo. It is also directed by Lee Myung Se whose 1999 movie Nowhere To Hide was ace!

Hi everybody....been a while since my last post.
Been watching lots of korean titles recently, including:
- Bittersweet Life
- Blood Rain
- Antarctic Journal
- Innocent Steps
- Rules of Dating
- A Bold Family
Japanese titles: 'One Missed Call 2' and 'Fantastipo'
=======================================

Bittersweet Life: It seems like this movie is made especially for male movie fans. Girls certainly won't like this kinda movie. Lots of nice action, cute girl, violence in almost every parts of the movie, and all the goody stuffs required for action movie except it less for background story and harsh ending sad
Nevertheless, I still like this movie a lot. This is the Korean title which people have to watch this year.

Blood Rain: Thriller movie in traditional Korea era. It's about a psycho killer on the loose kills his victims in a disgusting and gore methods; and a federal detective attempts to catch the murderer. Everything flows nicely until the unnecessary finale when the villagers killed off the last innocent (not-supposed-to-die) informant and suddenly out-of-nowhere the sky rains blood all over the place. A screwed up ending indeed.....

Antarctic Journal: Boring movie regardless of 2 famous male actors (Song Kang Ho and Yu Ji Tae) in it. If this title is 1.5 hours, it would be much better. Two long damn hours watching a group of 5 people just walking around snowy mountain is JUST PLAIN BORING. Along with a confused ending, this movie is worth to be flushed in the toilet angry

Innocent Steps: Finally get to see the little sister in Tale of 2 Sisters again in action cheesy
Nice balance movie in terms of story, comedy, drama, and dancing of course. Recommended title for anyone who want a light hearted movie with a bit of unexpected twist for its story.

Rules of Dating: I was expecting a romantic comedy b4 watching it. Thus, I was so damn surprised it is NOT comedy at all and it focused more about having sex. Disappointed...This is movie is either smart or plainly sick depending on viewers. Definitely, this title is not for me.

A Bold Family: Started of funny and later on ended up in a sad drama......a very typical Korean movie. Not really recommended for everyone, just watch it if u really damn bored grin

One Missed Call 2 (Chakusin Ari 2): A very stupid sequel. Shouldn't be made at all. Really hate a horror movie when the ghost can do all the telekinetic stuffs. Stay away from this movie if possible. It does not worth your time.

Fantastipo: Only watch this movie if u'r Kinki Kids fan.

i will be watchin rules of dating soon..... its seems tht korean cinema is becomin more open nowadys... with sex scenes..... Marriage is a Crazy Thing... is a classic imo...http://www.geocities.com/hkneo2001/marriage_is_a_crazy_thing_2002.htm... but it is much more controversial nowadays...

Those 2 pics are 'A Bold Family" and 'Red Shoes'.

A Bold Family: Drama comedy which tells us the story of 2 men trying hard in cheating their dad to inherit his wealth. The dying wish of his dad is his children will only get their inheritance if North and South Korea unite which is IMPOSSIBLE; thus the 2 children faking the news of the unification and story goes on like that till the last part became a touching finale.

Red Shoes: Haven't watched yet but this is the MOST ANTICIPATED Korean horror of the year 2005. Seen the trailer before and it should be damn good.

Just got the K-horror movie 'Red Shoes' at my place but haven't really had time to watch it sad
K-horror titles of my recommendations:
- Dead Friend (aka Ghost) -> best Korean horror so far as far as i concern. Expect lot of twists inside.
- Doll Master
- A Tale of 2 Sisters (more like a thriller/suspense than horror)
- Bunshinsaba (a lot of ghost encounters and sudden shock but story is not that good)
- Red Shoes (seen only the 1st 10 minutes of the movie but already can tell it is one of the above average movie grin)

Upcoming K-horror titles this year:
- The Wig
- Cello
- Voice (aka Whispering Corridors 4)
