Anone!!! cheesy

Yes, Finally...

You know, I think you and me were the only one's who liked 'Sky High' on the planet.

Granted it wasnt perfect but conisidering it was rushed into prodution (After the success of the TV show) , I thought he did a great job and there were some interesting ideas in there too!

Also, the budget was only a TV Movie one. So it's even more impressive.

Anyhow, what it comes down to is:

At least three of Japans most beautiful women with long black dresses and even longer swords... Kicking ass!Just like you said.

What else does there need to be in a film!!! wink

Thx for sharing ur feeling PaulJ smiley It sounded like u've been tortured for so long without finding anyone with the same taste of movies.
Btw. is 'Casshern' worth buyinghuh The visual looks so damn promising, but it seems the storyline sucks huh

Anone.

Yes. I was all alone in my love of 'SKY HIGH' embarassed

The visuals alone make Casshern 100% Worth Getting.

You wont be unhappy. Thats a promise.

The problem is, Yes, kind of the story, well, not even so much the story but the complicated nature of showing something like this in movie form.

One thing is those who were looking for action 'only' have been very let down. Luckily I wasnt one of those as there are only two real action scenes in the movie. However, they are very VERY well done.

If you like both Anime and or Stylised film-making. You'll totally dig it. Thats a promise. It's a film that some people will just love and judging from your previous statements I think you will too. Dont worry what people tell you about the story, it is no where near as bad as most of the other Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Effects Movie coming from South Korea and Japan recently. "Cough" 'Natural City'.

It just can get a little Confusing and/or strange/silly.

Oh and one last thing, it's actually pretty dark and violent too.

But there will always be something awesome to look at!!!

My guess is just take it as an alternative to 'Avalon'.

I'm just waiting for my copy of 'Cutie Honey'.

Going to be the 'Best Film Ever'. lol tongue

Cheers! smiley

Ok...just made up my mind to buy Casshern based on ur opinion grin
Btw PaulJ, u understand Japanese?....since Cutie Honey DVD doesn't have English subtitle on it. I'm also looking forward to this movie since I watch Cutie Honey anime. Will it also has a lot of fanservices just like the anime itself? shocked

Hey again Anone! grin

Yeah, I have roughly 40% Japanese comprehension.

Not the highest but I am completely able to get through most movies if I absolutely have to watch without subs.

Really, I'm so excited about Cutie Honey.

I love the Anime but have been trying not to find out anything much about the movie.

I want to just sit down and watch it not knowing how many little references and fan services there are. I'm sure whatever happens it'll be awesome.

I'M SO, SO EXCITED!!! lol

Dreamworks already bought the Casshern license for US release. Wonder anybody will get the license for Cutie Honey? grin

Cutie Honey review that I found:
http://www.midnighteye.com/reviews/cutiehoney.shtml

Another cool manga to live action movie coming from Japan soon is Devilman. From the stills I've seen, Devilman's CGs are even better than the ones from Casshern shocked

Cool, thanks Anone.

I read that review. grin

Strange that the remake rights have been bought for Casshern. lol. I'd have thought they may have been afraid to try after 'Sky Captain and the world of GREEN SCREEN.' tongue

DEVIL MAN DOES LOOK COOL FROM THE SCREEN SHOTS.

I hope the story is as good! smiley

Dun forget to check the trailers on the official site
http://www.devilmanthemovie.jp/

It is currently playing in Japan's cinemas and looks like a new superhero movie from japan.
Another Japan superhero movie which I can think of besides Cutie Honey (if it counts as one wink) is Zebraman; which is quite sucks according to me

I haven't watched much Korean or Japanese movies lately but did watched a Korean war movie called 'Taegukgi'. This movie is way better than the other one starring the same actor, if I remember right it was 2009 Lost Memories. At first I thought it's some boring war glorification flick, but I was proven dead wrong. This is a must see.

A;though this doesn't count, I saw the Ju On Sarah Gellar remake yesterday and have to report that it's 97% copied from the original with no fresh twists to get excited about. A few of the scary scenes work in the beginning, but near the end it starts to get draggy and there's something not done right about the ending making it not scary at all. angry

Some of the anime movies I can't want to see are GiTS Innocence, Advent Children, Appleseed and Beyond the Clouds. I've been waiting for the last one since last year.

To tell the truth I don't know what to expect from live action remakes of anime, unless they have the budget of Spiderman or X-Men which they don't. You're Under Arrest and Gokusen worked but they're not movies.

But I'm gonna catch Cutie Honey no matter what since it's made by Anno who I have no clue what he's been up to since Evangelion, I'm very curious and will be going to see it regardless. I need a subbed version though since my Japanese comprehension is next to zero. cry

That girl is Ha Ji Won from the Korean tv series 'Damo' rite?
I couldn't buy that tv series boxset from yesasia since they only send it to US coz it was region-1 coded. Really feel so bad missing out this highest budget korean tv series ever cry

It's me again...
Damn...i just found out the review for Devilman which turned out to be sooo bad. In fact, it's really awful that it received 0 out of 5 stars according to this site:
http://www.nixflix.com/reviews/devilman.htm

Also on the main page of that site, u guys can find the reviews of the 2 new HK movies: White Dragon and 2046. Enjoy wink

One more thing, dunno whether this is appropriate or not to post it here, I found a site to get the Cutie Honey Live Action movie with English subs:
http://a.scarywater.net/spork/
Those who don't understand Japanese like I do should try the file and if u like the movie....plz DO buy the movie. Support the original smiley

I know that Fob site for quite a while but they are so slow in fansubbing any series which is not worth the wait if u really like the series.
That DVDAsian site do have that Damo series but I haven't tried that site yet. It seems the shipping fee is also applied unlike Yesasia.
